Many people with ALS use eyetracking devices to communicate, use apps, and surf the web. To make sure ALStogether is easy to use no matter how you communicate, members will be the first to get access to an experimental Eyegaze Mode for Slack.

​Eyegaze Mode will be a new way of experiencing Slack with larger buttons, nothing hidden on hover, and a dramatically simplified layout. It is designed specifically for users using eyetracking devices or a head mouse, but useful for anyone looking for a simpler experience.
Enabling Eyegaze Mode
Profile → Preferences → Accessibility → Big Button Mode → Turn On.
​The Main Page
Pressing the hamburger menu button at the top of Slack brings you to the main page. This is a landing page that lets you jump to different parts of the interface, and will point you towards things that need your attention.
Messages
Use the composer with your on-screen or physical keyboard to send messages. You can also press the “three dot” menu anytime to react or reply to a message.
​Jump To
Quickly jump to any channel, conversation, or page within Slack by typing what you’re looking for.
​Activity
See where folks have mentioned you, or responded/reacted to one of your messages.
